Graditude

I've been blog hopping lately and reading random peoples blogs and so I know, and I realized how blessed/lucky I've been in an important area of my life. So since this is my journal and I don't know what's coming my way I figured I'd better write it down now so I don't forget and my kids can see how we were.

When we got married I felt that we would have a hard time have kids, no particular reason I just felt that way. I told Kurt this before we got married and we agreed we'd just adopt if we needed to. We'll as it turned out 3 years later we had no problem getting pregnant, to our surprise, and it hasn't been a problem since.

Both the boys pregnancies I felt great pretty much the whole time. I threw up in the beginning but once I threw up I felt fine. Hazel's and this new baby have been harder but I have never come down with any major illness or complication durning pregnancy (except for Joshua but only in the last month).

When it come to delivery all my babies have been born without need for intervention, Josh came close but since I was ready to push and he came right away there was no need for a C-section. All were pretty much healthy right away. Josh needed help keeping his temp up for 24 hours and Hazel swallowed a lot of fluid on her way out and needed to be suctioned but both were minor complications. I didn't do so well after Joshua's birth. I had some major complications but recovered fairly quickly and have had no lasting effects.

Since birth they have all been really healthy, small but healthy. The only time most of them have been to the hospital is to visit some one, with exception of Michael who went to the ER for stitches.
No one has allergies or conditions we have to worry about, things are pretty normal around here.

Like I said at the start thus far we have been really blessed in this area of our life, by the grace of God. We know many of you, friends and family and those we don't know personally, have had problems in one or many of these circumstances by no fault of your own. I have wondered over the years why not me but it's the same as asking why me, and sometimes it just not the trial you're asked to face. This doesn't mean I can't be sympathetic for those going through these trials my heart goes out to all of you that are in these situations and it amazes me how strong and wonderful you do everyday. Things may change in the future or they may not but as of right now I thanks the Lord every day for the blessing of my children, even if that's hard sometimes, and the health of my family.
