Finally!

Ok, I know I'm a total slacker! So here's the last 3 months. Josh's birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Daddy son camp outs, seeing Santa, and Snow. So I'll start from the beginning. You probably already read the poop story so here's the after cleanup pictures of his out door party. Where ironically I served "dirt" instead of cake which if you know what "dirt" looks like you'll know the irony.

Then there's Halloween which lasted 3 weeks with party's so I wasn't surprised when Josh thought Halloween was everyday for a while. On the real Halloween Josh had a great time trick-or-treating with Mommy. He lasted a whole 10 blocks total. Pretty good considering it was cold! He loved his Tigger costume and showing everyone how tiggers can bounce. Michael tolerated his penguin costume and looked cute at home.

Thanksgiving was fun we went to my brother's house and had a good time eating and celebrating my nephews birthday. We had o talk to Joshua before hand to tell him it wasn't his birthday and the presents weren't for him. He did fine and we all had fun.

Joshua and I were reading a little critter book called Just me and my dad one night before bed and Josh said that camping like they did in the book would be fun and him and his daddy were going to go camping. So I told Kurt about it. The next night they decided to have a camp out with just the two of them in the basement. It was cute they watched movies and had popcorn and even made a Fort! They decided to make it a monthly tradition. Sorry it's blurry.

Today was Kurt's office kid's Christmas party. His company is really family friendly (which is one of the main reasons we picked them) so they have Santa and watch the holidazel parade (a parade put on every year by Macy's that goes throughout the streets of Minneapolis all of Dec. It a night parade and all the floats and people are covered in Christmas lights) Josh was so excited to see Santa and tell him he wanted Dora Candy land for Christmas not the regular one we just got him. They got home and Josh dramatically walked around holding his belly saying "oh, mommy my tummy hurts, I ate too many cookies" Oh poor Joshua, Ya right! They also have a present for each kid with their name on it. Joshua got a totally cool Dump truck with a flashlight in it, and Michael got a cool doggy soft book.

We also got a lot of snow this last week about 8-10 inches and we're suppose to get more this weekend. So Josh has had a blast with the big snow. I hadn't realized how much till I was talking to him this morning about Washington, where we're going for Christmas, and told him he could play football outside with his cousins because there is no snow at Gran and Grandads. He looked at me after I said that with great alarm and said "NO SNOW, Gran and Grandad have no snow. Mommy we need to bring them snow!" I started laughing and asked him how we were going to get them snow and said "the car" Hello mommy! I didn't realize that snow was that important.

Ok so I know I haven talk about Michael much. He's doing great He's becoming a chunk! He has his 6 month check up on Monday but we're guessing he's about 16lbs. or more. It's so funny to compare him to Josh who was a shrimp and Michael who's an ox. He can sit up now and he can scoot to his toys on his belly. He also loves his exersaucer! He still has his signature Mohawk. He definitely growing and changing. He loves to smile and Laugh especially at Joshua. He's our high maintenance baby but he's getting better and is starting to sleep through the night, YEH! I need to take some new pictures and hopefully post them soon. Oh I have Christmas cards with pics to send out, If you could all email me you addresses again it would be really helpful. Love ya all!

Tag

So I usually don't do these things but, hey I haven't written in a long time so here goes...

A. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.

B. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog for these rules.

1. I love doing stained glass. I've done 3 pieces in the past but, I gave them all away. Now that I have a house I want to start up again but I need to get all the equipment. So hopefully I can do it again soon.

2. I'm a reader. I could say that a few years ago but the last few years I have just been a readaholic. My latest read was Louder than Words by Jenny McCarthy. it was great!

3. I could sleep all day. I finally got my first good night sleep in 2 years the other night when my parents took both the boys for the night. If I could get a day to relax, I would watch a good movie or read a good book and sleep! Oh glorious sleep.

4. I love nap time. don't get me wrong I love my boys but nap time is a wonderful 2-3 hours of blissful quite!

5. I hate driving in traffic and merging. I will avoid it at all cost.

6. I can't wait to decorate my whole house. I've gotten a few rooms done but there is so much I would love to do but I have to wait for the bank account to accommodate my plans.

I tag Jenn, Tracie, Tamra, Angella, Anna, and Sara. Do it if you want I understand if you don't because I usually don't.

Kurt's Done!

Kurt is finally done taking he's CPA exam. It's like the bar exam for accountants. He's been studying and taking tests for 5 months. There were 4 tests in all. His average on this first 3 tests is 94 which is great considering the rate for passing all 4 tests on the first try is 4%. He finds out how he did on hid last test in a few weeks but it was the tax test and that's what he does every day and he thinks he did well so we're pretty confidant he passed. I'm excited because I don't have to be a single mom any more (he's been studying every spare minute for the last 5 months). We're all so proud of him!

Birthday Blues

Has this happened to you...

Your frantically racing around the house to get every ready for your 3 year old birthday party that starts in 15 minutes. You walk into your 3 year old room to wake him up from the nap he is suppose to be taking. Your first clue things are taking a turn for the worst, he's not in his bed. Second clue, you step into a puddle of some sort of liquid when you get through the door. Third clue, there's a diaper laying on this empty bed. Fourth clue, it smells like poop. Fifth and final clue(that some day you'll find funny, hopefully) your wonderful 3 year old has "mud" all over his hands and toys! OH YES, HE'S COVERED IN HIS OWN POOP, NOT TO MENTION HE'S SMASHED IT ALL OVER HIS WALLS, DOORS, AND TOYS! Did I mention a bunch of people are suppose to arrive at our house in 15 minutes.

I rush to clean up the pee I stepped in so it doesn't damage our hard wood floor and rush Josh in to a bath. I leave the poop for Kurt to clean up when he gets home! Josh is so lucky I have the party to host so I don't totally flip. I call up Kurt to tell him the wonderful news and can't stop laughing, if you know me when I get stressed I laugh. So Kurt thinks I've flipped and comes home as soon as he can. Anyways The party goes fine, Kurt gets all the poop off the walls, and from that day on Josh has begun to potty train himself. A month has now past and I can now say it's funny! I had to share this story just in case you happen to find yourself in this situation you can rest assured you are not the only one. Thanks Jenn for your blueberry poop story it helped me out a lot!

Thanks Jake!

Thanks to my brother Jake we got this playground for free! Josh loves it. Jake had it in his backyard from the people he bought his house from. He's 23 and single so he doesn't need it so he let us have it. When we got it, it looked pretty worn but with a good power wash and a can of stain it looks like new again. It just took me 2 days of cleaning and staining but it worth it! Thanks again Jake!

Great Books!

I have a friend who is a awesome writer, Ally Condie. I just finished her second book First Day. I was amazing. Her first book Yearbook was great but I think second book was even better. Ally is an one of those people that is a super mom and a amazing writer and can do anything and still stay sweet and totally friendly. As you can tell I'm not a writer so people that can write wonderful books always blow me away. Plus she writes about Cornell a place that is near and dear to our hearts! We will always have a piece of Ithaca in our hearts! You can find out more about her books at www.allysoncondie.com Check it out!

Happy Birthday Josh

Michael

So I realized I haven't put many picture up of Michael lately so here is some new ones. He smiles a lot now and I can getting him to laugh every once and a while. But I can't seem to get in on camera so here's the best I've gotten so far. We found out he loves it when we sing, he'll aways smile and coo at us. I so fun to interact with him now and have mini cooing conversations. Josh loves his little buddy and come to see what he's doing all the time.

Crazy

I had gone outside to do some yard work while the boys were taking their naps in their rooms. When I came back inside I found Josh sleeping out in the hallway. He slept like this for another half hour. What ever gets hime to sleep I guess!

He found some stickers and decided to decorate himself for church!

He loves the backyard!

He was teaching himself to juggle (seriously!)

Josh is really getting to be a ham, it's fun to watch him grow up!

Redecorating

So it's been awhile since I blogged so I bring you up to date. We closed and Move in to our new house and have been doing work on it every spare moment. Not that it needs a lot of work it's mostly redecorating. Kurt did take out the deck that was in much need of repair, he does love the demo! I've mostly been painting a decorating rooms to make it feel like home. I finally can decorate and not have to ask any ones permission and it can stay for more than a year! So here's what I've done so far. (I wish I took before pictures) I made a shower curtain and window curtain for the boys blue bathroom, can I say it's hard to match a bathroom with all blue tile and fixtures! I've painted and decorated both the boys room and painted the laundry room white even though I hate white walls. It use to be a dirty pepto bismo pink so white brightens it up a lot. Also my mom has helped me plant some bushes and flowers out front to liven up the place. It's starting to feel like our house.

Josh and Belle

Karlene, Anson and Belle were over the other day and when they were about to leave Josh and Belle ran into Josh's bed and said they were going to sleep. It was so cute we had to take a picture!

I found this shirt for Micheal and thought it was perfect for Kurt!

Michael's Blessing

Michael was blessed on the 5th of August and we were so happy to have a lot of family and friends there. Michael wore the same outfit that Josh was blessed in but with josh it was way to big and with Michael it was almost too small. But everything turned out great.

Thomas the Train

Kurt Parents were here a few weeks ago so we decided to do something for Josh's birthday early. The Day out with Thomas was in town so we took Joshua to see Thomas. If you don't know Josh is way into Thomas the Train and Friends. He has a lot of them and plays with them everyday so he had a blast seeing the real Thomas. But I think it was a lot bigger than he was expecting so he was kind of scared to get close. Here a few pictures that Kurt's Dad took and I blew them up and put them on his wall.

Michael and Mommy

I just realized I have no pictures of me and Michael since he was born. So I took a few today while Kurt was taking his sunday nap and me and Michael were having some Mommy and Me time. Oh I decided to chop my hair last week and cut off about a foot and then dyed it strawberry blond, so I probably look a little different then the last time you saw me. Also Michael started to smile a few days a go, so I'll try to catch a few on film.

Chunky Monkey

Our little Michael is not little anymore. He is a little over 10lbs. He has gained 3 1/2lbs in 4 weeks. What a chunker! It's so cute to see all of his rolls. He is starting to coo and is getting really good at holding up his head. He was really colicy but we switched his formula and he is back to his happy self again! Yeh!

Our First House!

We are going to be home owners! Scary and exciting all in one! We've been looking for about a month and found this house that we love and it was way better than anything else we had seen, way better! So we put in an offer and we weren't the only ones. But for some reason we can only chalk up to blessings they picked us even though we didn't have the highest bid. We close on July 31st as long as the inspection goes well tomorrow, cross your fingers! We are so excited! It's 4 bedroom, 3 bath on .37 acres. We have a master bedroom and a master bath! Plus a fenced in backyard! Also we're close enough to the city kurt daily commute is now 25 minutes instead of an hour and 15 minutes. Yeh!

Dirt is a Good Measure of Fun

Josh found a great sand box in a pit that a fallen tree left in Nana and Papa's yard. He plays in it for hour a day if we let him. He has to take multiple baths a day. But he looks it. Papa created a umbrella stand for the sand box so Josh would get so hot. Josh thinks it's cool. Thanks Papa!

Bike rides

Kurt and Josh love their bike rides.

Exercise

Today I took Michael on his first walk with Joshua. I can finally workout now so I'm starting out easy for a few days then I'm going to start training for the 5K I want run in October. Last year I couldn't run it because I was pregnant so this year I'm more determined to run it. The boys also enjoy getting some fresh air and telling mommy when to run fast. I'm also excited to finally get my body inshape, so far I've lost 30lbs from my prepregnacy weight and now I want to get rid of the flab. So we'll see. Kurt is also enjoying the summer sun and biking with the boys. He got a bike trailer/stroller from his parents and us for his birthday last week. He said he had forgotten how much he likes to bike and Josh loves it too. Josh also got a new bike helmet to go with his new bike trailer. He's excited because it has a train on it, yeh thomas!

Michael's First Haircut

Michael had his first haircut yesterday. I couldn't stand the mullet look any more. I cut off about 1.5 inches in the back and a half inch on the top. He also getting chunky now, he gained 1.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. He's now a little over 8lbs.

Swimming

We went to the beach the other day for a friends birthday. Josh had a great time socializing on the beach with the other kids and their toys. This is how he looked at the end of the day. I love the hair!
