Hockey

Josh just got finished with fall tiny tot sports. This time he played basketball and floor hockey. He liked basketball but needs to work on dribbling. He also liked Hockey and turned out to be really good at it. We're going to teach him how to ice skate this winter and see how he does.

I can see!

I finally got new glasses! I realized lately my vision was getting blurry but didn't realize how bad it was til I went to the eye doctor. I got my new glasses yesterday and I can believe how much better I can see. It's amazing. So this year I decided to go with a some fun styles since I could, what do you think?

Jokes

I just got the new readers digest and they had some great jokes this month so I thought I'd share.

For the holidays one year, rather than send gifts, my friend decided to enclose checks in her greeting cards. Inside each card she wrote, "buy your own presents" and then sent them off. a few months later, she discovered the checks she'd "mailed" under a pile of books.

Baby Slings

A few months ago I made a bunch of Baby slings to sell at a craft fair and a few sold but I have about 7-8 more that I decided to sell on craigslist but I figured I'd post them on the blog to see if any of you farther away would like one. They are the ring-style mayan slings. I have 4 patterns (see pic's). Let me know if you want one. They are $15 for locals and $20 for out of towners that I'd have to ship. Thanks

The week from (you know where)!

It all started last Saturday. We went to sleep and maybe a hour later I'm awaken by Joshua coughing. He has come down with a bad chest cold and can't sleep well laying down and won't lay on a few pillows so He slept on me in the recliner all night. I didn't get much sleep so the next day Kurt takes Michael to church and Joshua and I stay home so we can sleep. An hour into church Kurt comes home because Michael has a fever. The next three days goes like this: Michael is miserable and get very little sleep, Jes gets very little sleep and is puked on every day, Josh is miserable because every ones cranky. Kurt was really busy at work with meetings and finishing up all lots or returns but was merciful and took a day off on Wednesday to let me sleep and took Michael to the doctors. Michael fever broke that morning (of course) so the doctor couldn't see any thing wrong with him. Thankfully All of us are feeling much better at this point. That night for mutual the the YM are in charge of the activity and had us rake leave in the dark in freezing cold weather for 2 hours, lets just say it something I never want to do again. The next day goes by uneventfully, looking back it was the calm before the storm. Friday I was trying to get things done when I noticed that Michael has a wet towel in his hand as he came out of my room. I quickly investigated and found out he was playing in the toilet. I didn't think anything of it till an hour later when the toilet was clogged and after plunging did work I realized something might have gotten flushed. Josh said that they had flush a sock down the toilet when I asked him. After unsuccessfully trying to get the sock out I tried to flush it again and the toilet worked fine. At that point I wondered if Josh and Michael really did flush a sock or if they were joking. Boy I was about to find out. Sunday Morning I gave the boys a bath before church and when I was letting out the water the toilet on the main floor all over flowed. I went down stairs to see if we could get to the pipes and realized that the overflow pipe entrance was leaking. Kurt moved most of the stuff out of the way and decided to open the overflow gasket so we could reach the sock. But little did we know when he unscrewed the gasket a sewage fountain would come out. Lets just say it was sick, not it a good way. 2 hours later after help from a friend and a 100 ft. pipe snake the socks came out. Notice I didn't say sock but socks. How they managed to flush a pair of socks still baffles me. Anyways the clean up was pretty contained to easily cleaned areas with minimal loss of stuff, to that we're grateful. This week is one we hope to forget! Aren't you glad your not us!

Halloween

Aren't you proud of me I posted about Halloween before Thanksgiving! Anyways, The Boys had a blast this Halloween. Josh had 2 costume birthday parties this last week. and my mom and sister took them to their ward trunk or treating party. So after a few weeks of practice they were ready for the big night. Joshua was a pro and Michael caught on after the first house when he realized people put candy in his bucket. After that Mikey wouldn't let go of his bucket no matter what, falls, heaviness, nothing! He's got the cut knuckles to prove it! After lots of candy and a few blocks of walking we called it a night and went to Ty and Audrey's to rock out with their new Guitar Hero would tour! Fun for the kids and fun for us, we call that a great night!

Bad Blogger

I know, I know, I'm a horrible blog updater. I will try to be better, but those who know me know I'm a bad e-mailer, and a bad phone caller so what did you expect! I'm also a bad clump blogger. What is a clump blogger you may ask. Well is someone who tend to write 5 blogs all at once and then doesn't blog again for a few months. Guilty! Have fun reading the updates and hopefully I write about Halloween before thanksgiving comes! :) Love ya all, thanks for putting up with me!

Michael

My beautiful baby boy is no longer a baby. He is now a full blown toddler including temper tantrums. He is awesome. He so different for Josh but they compliment each other so well. Mikey is our little bulldog, he runs into everything, and loves tacking things especially Josh. He reminds us a lot of our nephew Austin. He's vocabulary is kind of slow but he's coming along. He has the best facial expressions, I've tried to get them on camera but I'm to slow. Mikey can be a fighter but is most definitely also a lover. He gives tons of kisses, hugs and his new fave noggins! He's a joy to be around and I am so glad he came into our family.

Happy Birthday Josh!

Joshua turned 4 last month and he was lucky enough to have 2 parties. Kurt parent came to visit about 2 weeks after his birthday so we waited to have his family party till they got here, but he had a friend party soon after his birthday. We decided to let him pick the theme for his parties and he wanted a Cars birthday so we had fun decorating and sending out invites with lighting McQueen. He had a blast! Thanks to all the family and friends that came and shared his special day with him.

Preschool

Josh started preschool last month. There are 2 girls and 2 boys in his class. He absolutely loves it! And so do I, Mikey and I get 2 hours twice a week by ourselves! Not that I don't love to spend time with Joshua, but he loves interacting with other kids and has learned so much. We have been practicing things at home and recently I've learned he can draw pretty well and love doing it. Here's a picture of his first day of school and 2 of his recent drawings.

Josh's photos

Josh loves to take pictures with our camera and the last time I looked he had taken 100 in the last few weeks. He's getting pretty good and hopefully when we get a new camera this one can be his. So here's a few of my fav's. Enjoy.

Acne,ugh!

So the bane of my existence right now is acne. I'm 27 and my face is acting like I'm 14. My face has never been this bad. It's driving me crazy. I've tried a few this and nothing has worked. So I'm asking for help! Does anyone have a over the counter solution I can try. There's so many out there so I'm asking for suggestions. Let me if you've found something that works that doesn't cost a fortune. Thanks!

Noki

Yes, I know what your thinking another animal are you crazy! And the answer is no, cats are so much easier than dogs! We told Josh when we got rid for Tally we could get a cat. So we decided we would get him one for his birthday which is coming up soon. I asked him what kind of kitty he wanted and he said orange and yellow like a tiger. Well I found a beautiful orange tabby that a couple need to get rid of because their new townhouse would only allow one cat and they already had one. The wife was a vet tech and had already done most of the vet stuff and she's litter box trained (that sold me). She 's 4 months old but a runt, she's only 6.5lbs. and will only get up to 8lbs. max. She will always be kitty size which I love! Josh decided to name her gnocchi after the cat on curious George. We decide to change the spelling so the boys could spelled it easier. We've only had her for 3 days but she already a part of the family!

T-ball

Josh just finished his first summer T-ball class. He loved it most of the time. His favorite part was when they played with a parchute at the end of class, go figure. Here's a few pictures of his last day.

Mikey just enjoyed drinking Josh's water bottle the whole time.

Thanks to Mom, Jake and Brittney for coming to the game!

Freshman for President

I have an amazing friend named Ally Condie who happens to be a great author. She asked me to be part of her blog tour and review her new young adult fiction book Freshman for President. I'm not a good writer so I hope a do this book justice. It was great! It's a must read for any teenager, especially those who are interested in getting their voices heard so basically all of them! Adults will love it too! Milo (the main character) was creative and doesn't take no for an answer. I loved that winning the election wasn't the main reason for running but that the true goal was to give teenagers a voice. I felt the same way as a teenager, frustrated by adults that didn't think my voice was important and I don't think I was the only one, so to see a teenager with the guts to do something about it rocks! I as thought the platform they created was wonderful and if teenagers would read this book and then take action on it's ideas they could be a strong force for good. I give this book 4 stars and highly recommend everyone to pick up a copy and read it! It's on amazon.com for around $9. Freshman for President by Ally Condie

Our New Car!

Yeah! We finally got rid of the black death aka our Pontiac grand am! I hated that car. Everything that could go wrong with it it did it seemed like. I finally got the SUV I always wanted too. Yesterday we bought a Mazda Tribute. I love it and this time we got a warranty! Oh, by the way we named it Guido (from the movie Cars).

Kurt

I have a wonderful husband, who is also a wonderful father! I know I'm a little late but Happy birthday and Happy Father's day Sweetie! Your an amazing person and I love you! The boys love and adore you, we are all better because of you!

Patio

So we finally started working on our patio ans back stairs. We still have a few hours of finish work to do but you can get a taste of what it will look like when it's done. We're going to stain it all in redwood stain to finish it off. Kurt did a great job making the stairs, thanks sweetie. Who knew an accountant could be so handy!
