The last month and a half have been exceptionally busy in the Bennion household.
First things first after a year of debating Kurt left his job as a public not-for-profit accounting for Larson Allen to work for Allina (a heath care company) doing their internal taxes. The stress of public accounting and the ever increasing hours have been wearing on Kurt for the past year or so. Example he hadn't had a sat. off in over a year. But he did want to take just any job. Then in December he got a email from Allina (he had done some of their tax filing a few years ago) asking if he wanted to apply for a job opening they had. Within about 2 weeks after applying fort the job he found out he got it and was going to start in mid January. So far he loves that he gets to spent a lot more time with us and get paid more for it.
With all that new found free time we decided to fill it with stuff we put on the back burner for the last few years. Kurt playing basketball 2 nights a week and volunteering for the PTA. Family game night once a week. Date night. Family Home Evening. I have my city charter commission meeting once a week, mutual, and I finally started playing volleyball again after mutual. Plus I joined the Library planning committee to help plan the new library the county is building in our city. For the first few weeks we were giddy with all the time we had and managed to fill it up too much but the last week or so we paired it down to the things we really want to do so we can spend our time together too.
It been an intressing transittion. We're both excited for Kurt to have a normal 8 hour 5 days a week job for the foreseeable future, but the best thing it no more busy season!
